STRESS

You Can LIVE Without It

STRESS is probably recognized as the number one Killer today. Over the past several years even the American Medical Association publicly stated that Stress was the cause of 80 to 85 percent of all human illness and disease or at the very least had a detrimental affect on our health.

For those who do not understand the process, whenever any event triggers an emotional reaction Adrenalin is released within our system. Adrenalin is an extremely powerful biological chemical that works immediately to produce a substantial increase in strength and physical ability. This system is an inherent human safety device for survival to be used in emergency situations. What most people do not understand is in the World That Used To Be, this reaction was only triggered when ones life was in danger or there was an emotional confrontation. This response occurred probably something on the order of once a week or even twice a year.

Today we trigger this powerful response hundreds of times a day. Herein lies a big problem, when it is triggered the vascular system is altered, heart rate is increased and the Endocrine system is essentially put on hold, to name only a few things that happen . Our endocrine system is the master glandular control system for all our physiological functions. The result of repeated adrenal elevation occurrences is damage to or dysfunction of our entire physiology, especially to our Immune systems.

The Major Discovery by this researcher was the "Energetic Field Burst Phenomenon" that occurs the instant an "Intense Thought" pattern is initiated. Whereas before it was thought would only trigger a physical reaction, the fact is it is both a Physiological and an "Energetic Event" as well.

There are endless volumes on the market today about stress and how to deal with it. Many so-called stress reduction techniques involve Doing Something, one of the real secrets is to DO NO THING.

Meditation is something very few really understand, it involves Quieting The Mind. The less sensory input the better, Total Darkness, Total Quiet, Total Lack of Sensory Input is the ideal. Many would say this would drive them crazy, that is a distinct possibility, since it is something we are not accustomed to. The fact is, it must be approached with caution and discipline. One result of meditation could be considered the process of reclaiming one's sanity. Within the accomplished meditator's world there is a peace and harmony with Everything. In the meditative state one also becomes Super Aware of everything. Far from being asleep they are totally Awake and super-conscious. The trap and flaw of many meditation techniques is they require conscious effort which is completely counter-productive. Only those techniques that incorporate removing all conscious effort and desire should be considered.

Exercise seems to be a popular 'Fix' for stress, this is something that must be approached also with caution. For people who have a sedentary job or lifestyle it could work wonders. For the person who is already overworked and physically drained, it simply does not make any sense to add any additional workload.

Activities that produce only Joy or Enjoyment should be considered, if anything makes you nervous or anxious Forget It. Many things we do for Pleasure create an enormous amount of stress, many of these include being bombarded by Sound with loud volume and discordant tones. If you doubt this, try spending an hour in a video game arcade or put music you find offensive on your stereo and crank it up.

Thoughts are perhaps the most important aspect of how Stress Is Created as well as being Reduced. The old adage about Mind Over Matter, 'If You Don't Mind It Doesn't Matter', is a concept worth embracing. Simply put, Your Response to any given situation or thought you have about anything affects your energetic field and your physiology. Any time something causes an adrenal response your system is sending you a warning message.

Part of the benefits derived from divesting one's self from the normal negative emotions is that the physical body acquires a more natural relaxed and rested state. In this state of serenity the body is more able to repair itself and maintain a higher degree of functional ability.

The more you do the higher the stress, the best teacher of stress reduction is a Cat.
